The goal of the Mat Rats youth wrestling club is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We facilitate the development of strength and character in every child that participates. Participation on our wrestling team is open to all boys and girls in the McKinney area.

We are sustained by the efforts of volunteers who display an extraordinary amount of commitment and hard work, ensuring that our team is a positive influence in the lives of our children. We also strive to provide a service to our community by providing a healthy outlet for children, opportunities for the community to gather together, and endless hours of entertainment.

Congratulations to 103 lbs. UIL Texas State Champion - Mike Dauterive!

Mike won the State Title Saturday evening at the Delco Center in Austin, Texas. Mike is the first High School State Champion from the McKinney Independent School District.

Mike is also the first high school State Champion from the McKinney Mat Rats! .... and we know we have more to come as we mold our young wrestlers into Champions!

The level of wrestling at the State Tournament really shows the positive influence that TX USA wrestling is having. There was a lot of action and Mike Dauterive handled it all like a true Champion!
 
We are all so very proud of Mike and wish him the best as he now looks to the decision of which college wrestling scholarship to accept as he takes his wrestling skills to the collegiate level. Mike is definitely an example of what hard work, dedication, and pure heart can do for you!


It's my pleasure to announce that two of our high school seniors who have come up the ranks in Mat Rats have advanced to the Texas State High School tournament.

Tyler Hartman -- 112 lbs -- McKinney North H.S. placed 4th at Region tournament.

Mike Dauterive -- 103 lbs. -- McKinney Boyd H.S. placed 1st -- Champion!

Both wrestler's have been an integral part of Mat Rats and are examples of what hard work and dedication can do for you.

The Texas State H.S. tournament will take place Friday & Saturday, Feb 26 & 27 down in Austin at the Austin-Delco Center.

The Mat Rats wish them both the best of luck!
